Some Clouds and Sea

Was listening to an artist (Sam Fender) who grew up in Newcastle, and was curious about the lyrics in this song about his journey with anger, and painted a first layer of a background soon to be softened by a twisty tree in the foreground. (“Nowt” means “nothing” and that was news to me.) Some blues and greens, some clouds and sea…

“I was far too scared to hit him
But I would hit him in a heartbeat now
That's the thing with anger
It begs to stick around
So it can fleece you of your beauty
And leave you spent with nowt to offer
It makes you hurt the ones who love you
You hurt them like they’re nothing”
